The BMW 318d - 3 Series Saloon - Power, Refinement, Performance.

BMW introduced the 318d in late April 2004. The model is the smaller sister of the best selling 320d model. The BMW 318d is based on the same platform with a detuned version of the 2.0 liter turbo four cylinder engine. The 318d has a large variety of option packages to choose from, these include the standard, ES, SE, and M Sport. BMW offers two transmissions for the 318d, a 5-speed manual or an optional 5-speed automatic. Both options allow for over 50 mpg while cruising on the highway and 47 mpg around town.

Priced around 20,000 EUR, BMW hopes the introduction of the BMW 318d will increase their market share with competitors such as the Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Vectra.
